Woman, 48, pleads guilty to sex with teens

LEBANON — A 48-year-old private tutor and elementary school volunteer faces up to 16 years in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to charges that she had sex with 14- and 15-year-old boys and furnished them with marijuana.

Paula Caddo's plea came a day before the South Lebanon woman was due to go on trial on 11 charges. She had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming she had a sexual addiction.

Under the plea agreement, Ms. Caddo admitted guilt to two felony charges of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and four felony counts of corrupting another with drugs.

In exchange, five charges of unlawful sex with a minor involving the same two boys were dismissed.

Ms. Caddo, a recently retired computer programmer, remains free on bond and is expected to return to Warren County Common Pleas Court for sentencing in about a month. At that time, Judge P. Daniel Fedders will determine whether Ms. Caddo should be classified as a sexual predator.

Ms. Caddo said little in court; and her lawyer, Tom Eagle, declined comment after the hearing, saying he wouldn't release any more information about his client until the sentencing hearing.

Ms. Caddo, who lives alone, came under investigation Oct. 18 after sheriff's deputies in South Lebanon received information that she might be sexually abusing minors.

After a search of her Lebanon Road apartment, Ms. Caddo admitted the allegations and told a detective she suffered from an anxiety disorder and sexual problems, authorities said.

Police and Kings Local School District have said accusations against Ms. Caddo were not connected to her volunteer work at South Lebanon Elementary School or her private tutoring business.
