Legislation against child sex tourism

Laws and regulations which can be used to:

  • prohibit or prevent the organization and advertising of sex tours and trips
      Penal Code Act No. 90-05 Article 8
      Order of 10.12.1990 approving the standard regulation of the performance of activities by
      travel and tourism agencies

 

Penalties relating to sex offences and crime against children in the country

  • for the sex exploiter (customer)

Any indecent act perpetrated or attempted without violence.		 5-10 years of imprisonment
Under 16 years of either sex Law nº 82-04 (13.02.1982) Art. 335.
Any indecent act perpetrated or attempted with violence.		 10-20 years of imprisonment
Under and over 16 years Law nº 82-04 (13.02.1982) Art. 334.
Any indecent act perpetrated by any ascendant against a minor not anticipated by marriage.		 5-10 years of imprisonment
  • for the manager, controller, pimp or owner of a prostitution place.

Under 19 years of either sex Law nº 82-04 (13.02.1982) Art. 343. Who,
2º in any form shares the profits of the prostitution
5º hires, incites or maintains, even with his or her consent, a person with a view to prostitution or induces him or her to engage in prostitution or debauchery
6º acts as an intermediary in any way between persons engaging in prostitution or debauchery and individuals that exploit or remunerate the prostitution or debauchery of another		 5-10 years of imprisonment.
A fine of 10.000 to 100.000 DZD
  • for the procurer or trafficker who procures, seduces or traffics another person for prostitution

Whoever incites, encourages or facilitates the debauchery or corruption		 5-10 years of imprisonment

1º in any way helps, assists or protects the prostitution of another or soliciting for prostitution		 5-10 years imprisonment.
A fine of 10.000 to 100.000 DZD
Extra-territoriality laws and regulations allowing to prosecute in your country its nationals for child sex offences committed abroad.
  • Law nº 82-04 (13.02. 1982), Article 345
    The penalties provided for in Articles 342 to 344 shall be incurred even if some of the acts that are constituent elements of the offence were performed outside the territory of the Republic.

LAWS: 1. Homosexual activity is illegal, punishable with up to 3 years  imprisonment and a fine between 1,000 and 10,000 Algerian dinars.        NOTE: 1. Jesus Cariglino, mayor of Malvinas, is very anti-gay.
